Our Mission
Over the last few years we have been working to build a 501c3 non-profit that provides a transitional home for canines labeled aggressive. And, therefore, Axel's K9 Rescue, Rehab and Rehome was born!
While under Axel’s K9 R3 care, canines receive extensive rehabilitation and proper training before being placed in positive forever homes. Axel’s K9 R3 promotes healthy canine ownership by providing public education of the proper care and handling of canines.

Requirements for Adoption!
Every dog we rehabilitate deserves to find their forever home with a responsible, dog loving handler, who can continue their training and structure to create a wonderful relationship for life!
A three to six week trial period is required, depending on the dog, to ensure the easiest transition. The dogs' schedule and all training used during rehabilitation must stay strictly consistent during trial period. If during the trial period the training is not continued, and this leads to the dog acting out, the adoption fee will be forfeited, and additional training sessions may be required.
- Adopter agrees to sign a detailed contract that includes specific information about the dogs' diet, exercise, and lodging.

- Adopter will need to provide a secure and fully fenced yard.

- Adopter will provide all necessary medical care to the dog in a timely manner.
​
- Adopter agrees that the dog will be a member of the family, and live in the house, not be restricted outdoors.

- There is a $500 adoption fee for all dogs.
​
- If any behavioral issues arise, adopter agrees to contact Natalie Okal, founder of Axel's K9 R3, to follow the recommendation in resolving any issues as an effort to maintain custody of the adopted animal.
Requirements for surrender

Previous Training
The dog must have completed a training package, or an extensive Board-and-train course.
This can be with Axel's K9 Training, or another trainer, using training tools like a slip lead, prong collar, and/or E-collar.
We require the trainer's name and location to confirm when the training was recieved.

Bite Risk
The dog must have bitten a person, resulting in a wound that required stitches.

Location
The dog must be within 100 miles of Axel's K9's current address.
